Mr. Smith obtained a Bachelor of Science degree in Architecture, graduating with honors from California Polytechnic State University at San Luis Obispo, and thereafter a Juris Doctor degree, cum laude from J. Reuben Clark School of Law at Brigham Young University. He was the recipient of the American Jurisprudence Award in Real Estate Transactions, Real Estate Finance, Computer Uses, and Accounting for Lawyers. He is admitted to practice in California and Utah, including all Federal Courts in each State and the 9th Circuit Court of Appeals.

Mr. Smith is a member of the American Bar Association, American Trial Lawyers Association, Orange County Bar Association, Los Angeles Bar Association, and involved in the Real Property, Construction Law and Business Litigation Sections of each. Mr. Smith specializes in civil litigation with an emphasis in business, real property, bankruptcy, and real estate transactions.

Mr. Smith serves as a judge pro tem in the Orange County Superior Court. He is serving as a member for the term 2000 - 2002 of the Business Law, Partnership and LLC Subcommittee of the State Bar of California.
