On July 25, 2003, Mr. Chapman, together with partner Steven Smith, won a $16.3 jury verdict in Los Angeles Superior Court in a catastrophic injury case. The verdict came after having settled a portion of the case for $7.3 million against Gold's Gym. He was profiled in the prestigious Los Angeles Daily Journal legal publication after achieving an $8 million judgment with associate Robert J. Hadlock in a personal injury case where his client was rendered a quadriplegic in an automobile accident. In 2000, he won an appeal in the Ninth Circuit in the case of Anguiano v. Allstate Insurance Co. (9th Cir. 200) 209 F.3d. This case has since been cited in the esteemed Rutter Group publication Insurance Litigation, as well as various other respected treatises.
