Mr. Chapman and Mr. Smith represented a Brazilian software distributor, Decision Warehouse, against Business Objects, a publicly traded company and the world's leading business intelligence company, for breach of a non-disclosure agreement, interference with economic relationships, etc., in Brazil. Plaintiff claimed damages in the amount of $30 million.
The case was tried for 2 months in front of a San Jose Superior Court jury in the summer of 2007. After 3 days of deliberations, the case was settled on terms that, according to SEC filings, was in the approximate amount of $7.75 million.
